Get your scissors ready. It’s time to clip this week’s coupons and save some cash during your weekend shopping trip.
Remember the purple Publix flier you got with your Tampa Bay Times last week? The coupons in it are about to expire on Aug. 24, but if you get to Publix today or Friday, there’s some absolute coupon-doubling steals.
Shoe inserts: There’s a purple Publix coupon for $5 off two Dr. Scholl’s inserts. In the SmartSource coupons that came with this Sunday’s Tampa Bay Times, there is a page of Dr. Scholl’s coupons for $2 and $3 off. You can use up to three coupons at one time for this deal.
Air freshener: There’s a 50-cent off Publix coupon that works on any Glade product. This Sunday’s SmartSource has Glade coupons for 50 cents to $1.50 off, depending on product. You can combine the deals from candles to car plug-ins.
Allergy meds: There’s a purple flier coupon for $4 off Claritin products. In your most recent SmartSource, there are Claritin coupons for $4, $6 and $10 off. That could mean close to half off of 90-count boxes that are around $30 full price.
Onto deals you don’t have to rush out the door to cash in on:
If you’re in need of laundry detergent, here’s a good deal on Purex. There’s a BOGO (buy one, get one) deal at Publix. That will save you about $6.15. Then there’s a save $2 manufacturer coupon you might have in one of your mailers, but also is available on coupons.com.
Publix is advertising $3 off its Schick razors right now. That includes refills and disposables. In the SmartSource coupons you got in your Sunday Tampa Bay Times, there are coupons for $3 and $4 off razor refills and disposables.
So that means you can get a $9 razor for $3.
Nabisco crackers and cookies are BOGO, too. There’s a 75-cent manufacturer coupon that came in your Sunday paper for any two Nabisco products you can use.
There’s a two for $5 deal on Lysol wipes and your most recent SmartSource has a coupon for $1 off of two wipes ready to go.
If you use the Ibotta rebate smartphone app:
There’s a $2 Publix rebate on Cupcake wine. Publix also is advertising the wine at the “low” price of $8.49.
Halo Top is BOGO again. Seems like someone has a deal on this low-cal ice cream every week. There’s a 75-cent Ibotta rebate on the ice cream if you decide to snag some pints.
(Note: All sale prices at W-D require you have a Southeastern Grocers (SEG) Reward card to redeem the deals and earn points.)
There’s a BOGO on Kraft Mayo. If you have last week’s Tampa Bay Times SmartSource flier, you can save a bit more with a 35-cent off coupon.
Nabisco crackers and cookies are buy two, get one free at W-D. You can use that same save 75 cents on two coupons from your most recent Sunday paper that I mentioned above.
Planters peanuts are on special for two or $5. And your most recent SmartSource has a save $2 on any two Planters peanuts coupon.
If you want to spoil the family pup: Pup-Peroni “filet mignon” and “bacon” flavor treats are marked down $1 at $11.99. You can save $1 off two with a coupons.com deal, too.
There’s a much bigger money saver if you have a cat. Rachael Ray’s Nutrish brand cat food is on BOGO. Coupons.com has $2 of one three-pound bag.
If you use the Winn-Dixie app, it will pull digital coupons, too. (Publix’s app does something similar.) But it doesn’t pull every coupon out there — that would be too easy.
So here are some deals that require no clipping:
There is a W-D digital coupon for $2 off Tide detergent, which is on sale for $3 off right now. So you can grab it for $3.99.
If you need some air freshener: Febreze is in the weekly ad for 40 cents off, along with an app coupon for $1. You’ll spend about $1.99.
If you’re a Dr Pepper lover, you can get three packs for a total of $9 if you add a digital coupon to this week’s special price.
And if you hate couponing but like BOGOs: Heads up for the weekend only, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream is buy one, get one.
If you’re an Ibotta user, here are some decent W-D deals you can link up with the rebate app:
Boxed wine, anyone?
W-D says it has marked down Franzia wine to $10.99, so you’ll save $2 with your reward card. Ibotta has a $1 rebate to sweeten the savings.
As for beer, Budlight is on sale. Depending on which size you pick, W-D says you can save up to $7. Ibotta has $1 rebate for Bud, too.
