This Thanksgiving, as you gather with family and friends and reflect the blessings of the past year, The Greenville News wants to be a part of your day.

We’ve packed our biggest edition of the year with all sorts of news and features. You’ll read about a program at Greenville Health System that helps the disabled reach their full potential, and about vital work to make it easier for patients to survive and recover from strokes. You’ll also find a story about where all that food on your Thanksgiving table comes from and how much of it originates right here in South Carolina.

We’ll also be kicking off our annual fundraising effort, the Holiday Sunshine Fund. The Greenville News partners with the Asheville Citizen Times and WYFF 4 to gather donations to help those in our community who need a little extra help. One hundred percent of donations go to agencies throughout the Upstate that help families have a better holiday season and a better year. We hope you’ll consider helping our community.

In sports, you’ll find stories to help you get ready for Saturday’s big game between Clemson University and the University of South Carolina — the day that will determine who has bragging rights for the rest of the year.

You can also find a gigantic crossword puzzle to help pass the time as you wait for the turkey and fixings to come out of the oven, and other important stories about what is going on in our community and around the state as we head into the holiday season.

And don’t forget all of those sought-after Black Friday sales circulars that will help you plan your late-night or early-morning holiday shopping run.

Typically weighing in at more than 3 pounds, the Thanksgiving edition will be sold starting Wednesday evening, Nov. 21 at retailers across the Upstate, including Spinx, Ingles and CVS. Each edition will be $5.

After you’ve read all we can pack into our print edition, don’t forget to check us out online for all of the latest news and sports published as it happens. The best way to enjoy this content, of course, is with a subscription that gives you full access to our products. You can get details about that here.

Thanks for reading, and we hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving and a great holiday season.
